Sierra Blanca Peak

North face of Sierra Blanca Peak 12,003'.

This April 12 ascent had just enough snow for
some good pics without being a real problem
for climbing. With no ski lifts in operation it was
about a 5 hour roundtrip hike from the Apache
Ski Resort parking lot. The out of print "New
Mexico Mountains" by Herbert Ungnade was our
guidebook for our New Mexico exploration.

Snow or not, the west ridge has a bit of
exposure on both sides.
