Kearsarge Peak 12,598'
The snow was late in coming
one season and for some strange reason we were the only ones to spend New
Year's Eve car camping in Onion Valley. On New Year's Day we did a few pitches on the south face
of Kearsarge Peak
and with the short days it was soon turnaround time. Despite the overcast,
taking off my glacier glasses gave me a case of snowblindness later
that evening.
